Mon-Dak Conference History

The Mon-Dak Athletic Conference is an alliance of eight state, community, and technical colleges located in North Dakota and Montana. Its mission is to provide an intercollegiate athletic experience for student-athletes that is consistent with the purpose of higher education.

Member institutions include: Bismarck State College, Dakota College at Bottineau, Dawson Community College, Lake Region State College, Miles Community College, North Dakota State College of Science, United Tribes Technical College, and Williston State College.

The Conference was originally formed in 1963 as the Mon-Dak Junior College Conference with the charter members of Assumption College, Bismarck Junior College, Bottineau School of Forestry, Custer County Junior College, Dawson County Junior College, Devils Lake Junior College, and UND-Williston.

The Mon-Dak Athletic Conference is affiliated with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Sports sponsored by the Conference include volleyball, women’s and men’s basketball, baseball, and softball.
