Quiet Bats Prove to be Royals Downfall

The Lake Region State College Royals Softball team traveled to Wahpeton, ND to take on the NDSCS Wildcats in a MonDak double header.

It was a quiet day for the LRSC offense. During their two games against the Wildcats of NDSCS they were only able to muster up 10 total hits and score 4 runs. This proved to be their undoing as the Wildcats would score 24 total runs on the day and score in every inning but two.

The final of game one would be NDSCS 10 LRSC 2. The final of game two would be NDSCS 14 LRSC 2.

Head Coach Kory Boehmer had this to say after the game, "We have to find a way to get out of this offensive funk we have been in lately. In the last six games we have only put up seven total runs. That is not a recipe for success. We need to do a better job working out of jams and making plays defensively when they are presented to us. Our goal is to put together one last solid weekend so we can take some momentum into the region tournament."

The Royals now sit at 11-23 (4-8) and in 4th place in the conference. They finish up the season Saturday on the road vs. DCB and Sunday at home vs. DCB. Game times are 1pm and 3pm.
