Royals Push Record to 7-1

After finishing off the win Friday night over Northeast, the Lake Region State College men's basketball teams work was not done. They still had two games to play in the Holiday Inn Express Classic against Jamestown JV and Canadian Mennonite.

Before the game Head Coach Jared Marshall would say, "We are going to need our bench to step up over the next two days. These games will test our depth."

Dalton Prouty, Akeen Woods and Kyle Henningsgard would answer the call. In a 93-71 win over Jamestown Dalton would put up 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Kyle Henningsgard would be vital to the 1st half push leading with effort and energy scoring 6 points 2 rebounds 2 assists and 2 steals. Akeen Woods would score 13 points as well.

Those three would continue their stellar play in the 107-49 win over Canadian Mennonite. Dalton Prouty would lead all scorers with 20 points he also had 13 rebounds 6 assists and 3 steals. Akeen Woods would grab 5 rebounds and pout in 16 points. Kyle Henningsard would add 8 points 3 rebounds and dish 6 assists.

Head Coach Jared Marshall would say after the game, "I was happy with how we finished out the weekend. Three wins in three days is a great accomplishment. I knew it would test our depth and our resolve, our guys answered the call each time."

With the win the Royals move to 7-1 on the year and will travel to Sheridan, WY for the Lions Club Tournament taking on Sheridan on Friday and Northwest College on Saturday.
