A Weekend of Mixed Results for LRSC Volleyball

A Weekend of Mixed Results for LRSC Volleyball

LRSC Volleyball traveled to Wahpeton, ND for a two day four game invitational.

The first match of the weekend had the Royals volleyball team squared up against the #15 team in the nation in Iowa Central Community College. LRSC would take it the distance forcing five sets after being down 2-0. Ultimately, they would come up short, running out of gas and losing 3-2.

The second game was against Ellsworth Community College. The Royals stayed hungry and won 3-0 over ECC.

Day two saw fatigue start to set in. Lake Region was playing games five and six in six days. First up was St. Cloud Technical and Community College. Despite their best efforts and a 25-19 win in the second set, SCTCC would win the match 3-1.

Last up was Valley City State JV. This one was a clean sweep as the Vikings would take it from the Royals 3-0.

Rachel Hill and Fabiane Besosa had a good weekend for the Royals. They were helped along by Jadaeya Morrell and Jexley Porrata who also made plays throughout the matches.

Head Coach Brigitte Greywater had this to say about the weekend, "I saw a lot of growth out there this weekend and on this road trip in general. The team is having fun and we had some players step up and give us good rotations off the bench. The team just needs to continue to think positively and have that itch for success. We are going to come back monday and compete to get ready for Williston State Tuesday night. I just ask that Royals fans keep watching and stick with us. We need your support for the home stretch!"

Royals Volleyball is now 5-12 (1-2). They will be back in action Tuesday night in a MonDak Conference game vs. Williston State College.

Go Royals!
