
Northeastern Baseball Takes Down Dawson Community College In Game 2 Of The Double Header 11-0
Northeastern Baseball took care of business in game 2 of the four game series with Dawson Community College, 11-0 on Sunday afternoon. Ondrej Vank was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Vank went 5 innings, giving up 0 runs on four hits, striking out four and walking three.
Brendan Clelland drove in four runs on three hits to help lead the Plainsmen to the victory. Clelland doubled in the first scoring two, singled in the third scoring one and doubled in the fourth scoring one. The Plainsmen scored 6 runs in the third inning. Carson Sauter hit a solo home run to left field, Clelland singled, scoring one, Michael Clark singled, scoring two runs and Hayden Swaen singled, scoring two runs. Northeastern got on the board first in the bottom of the first on a two run double by Clelland.
Three more runs crossed the plate for Northeastern in the fourth to extend the lead to 11-0. Clelland double scoring one run, and Aniel Del Orbe homered to right field, scoring two runs. Northeastern turned one double play in the game and did not commit a single error. They will be back in action again tomorrow at 11:00 and 1:30 to finish off the four game series with Dawson.
