The Lumberjack Volleyball team picked up a thrilling 5 set road victory Wednesday night against Trinity Bible College.
Set one went back and forth the entire set Until DCB was able to finish the set on an 8-3 run to win the set 25-20. Set two took the same shape as set one with neither team seeming to grab control of the set. However, in set two it would be the Lions who would go on the late 8-2 run to win the set 25-19. After falling behind 9-6 in the early going of set three the Lumberjacks responded with a 7-1 run to take a 13-10 lead and force a TBC timeout. Out of the timeout the Lions would score two quick points to cut the Lumberjack's lead to just one point. Not to be out done the Jacks rattled off four straight points to give them a five-point lead. That cushion would be able to be maintained as DCB would take set three 25-19.
Set four would be controlled by the Lions with them jumping out to an 8-3 lead in the early going and forcing a DCB timeout. TBC was able to maintain a comfortable lead for much of the set, until the Jacks would rally late would eventually tie the set at 20-20. It looked like DCB would be able to rally and take the match, but the rally would fall just short with the Lions taking set four 25-23 and forcing a deciding 5th set. The Jacks started hot in set five jumping out to a 4-0 lead and forcing a Lions timeout. Out of the timeout DCB pushed their lead to 5-0 eventually stretching their lead to 9-2 and forced TBC to use their final timeout. The Lions would close the gap, but the deficit was too much for them to overcome with the Jacks taking the set and the match 15-12.
With the win DCB improves to 2-11 overall. The Jacks travel north of the border to take on ACC tonight with first serve set for 7:00p.m.
