Ladyjacks Fall to Bucs

20 Dawson Community College offensive rebounds proved to loom large as DCC scored 21 second chance points enroute to an 87-61 victory over the Ladyjacks Thursday night.

Dawson scored the first four points of the game. The Ladyjacks responded with a 4-0 run of their own to tie the game. The Bucs offense then heated up going on a 19-4 run over the remainder of the quarter to take a 23-8 lead. Dawson held DCB to just 21% shooting from the field and shot 58% themselves. A big offensive quarter from the Ladyjacks in the second allowed them to cut into the Bucs lead but 6 offensive rebounds allowed DCC to keep the lead in double figures. Despite shooting 71% from the field in the second quarter DCB trailed 42-30 at halftime.

The third quarter was another big offensive quarter for the Ladyjacks. DCB shot 82% from the field but again gave up 6 offensive rebounds. After being in foul trouble most of the first half Jacie Hall scored 11 points in the quarter. After three quarters DCB trailed DCC 71-51. A poor shooting fourth quarter allowed DCC to pull away further winning by a final score of 87-61.

Jacie Hall led the Ladyjacks with 23 points. Alyssa St Pierre joined her in double-figures with 17, and Alexa St Pierre had 9 on three made 3's. Michelle Arens led DCC with 20 points off the bench.
