The M State Men's Basketball team held a slim 26-25 halftime margin over NDSCS on Wednesday night, however, the Spartans owned the second half as they scored 44 points to the Wildcats 34, earning their fifth consecutive win by handing the visitors a 70-59 loss. M State held the Wildcats to 29.9% (20-67) shooting on the night and 18.2% (4-22) on 3-point attempts.
The Spartans shot 38.8% (26-67) from the field, made 10-of-13 (76.9%) free throw attempts and held a 44-40 edge on the boards.
Foday Sheriff poured in a team high 21 points and added 14 rebounds to register a double-double. Mason Muir finished with 19 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists, while Javin Tindall contributed 11 points and 8 rebounds. Tyson McArthur added 7 points and 8 boards, while Yonis Mohamud came through with 7 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.
NDSCS had two players in double figures, Nidas Paulauskas with 13 and Alex Troutman with 11. Paulauskas and Jikany Deang each had 9 rebounds.
M State will take their 5-0 record up against Northland Community and Technical College on Tuesday, November 26 at 7:30pm in Fergus Falls. The Spartans beat the Pioneers 77-73 on November 16 in Thief River Falls.
