Wildcats Stay Hot in Mon-Dak

The Wildcats picked up two more conference wins over Dawson CC and Miles CC.

On Thursday, NDSCS faced off with Dawson CC in Whapeton. Sound defense and clutch free throw shooting down the stretch helped the Wildcats claw back and stave off the Buccaneers 71-60. The Wildcats made 14 of 15 free throws for the game and converted on their last eight attempts. Duoth Gach led the way scoring 15 points on 50% shooting from the field and also pulled down seven rebounds. Mohamed Kone scored 13 points and was a key facilitator with five assists. Jordan Polynice put together a great defensive game and led the Cats with eight rebounds.

On Sunday, the Wildcats made the trek to Miles City for their third match up of the season with Miles CC. The Wildcats offense was clicking on all cylinders in the first half as they scored 47 points while shooting 53% from the field and from beyond the arc. Not much changed in the second half as the Cats put up 48 points no their way to a 95-70 victory. Noble Cooper had a big game scoring 27 points and coralling seven boards. Duoth Gach connected five times from three on his way to another 20 point performance. Mohamed Kone registered a double-double with 11 points and a team high 13 rebounds.

With the two victories, NDSCS improves to 22-4 and 8-2 in the Mon-Dak Conference. Up next, the Cats will host Bismarck State College in their final home game of the regular season on Thursday the 14th. Tip off is set for 7:30 pm.
